Before you start

Local play checklist

  1. 1. Update the game. Launch through Steam and make sure everyone is using the current build.
  2. 2. Connect inputs first. Plug in or pair controllers before opening the session; keep keyboard and mouse available for menus if needed.
  3. 3. Start a local session. Follow the current in-game local co-op prompts, then let each player join with their chosen input.
  4. 4. Test a round. Confirm every player can move and interact before committing to a long run.

Fast checks

  • Reconnect the controller and restart the game after Steam recognizes it.
  • Check Steam's controller settings and any per-game Steam Input configuration.
  • Try one controller at a time to isolate a connection conflict.
  • After a game update, re-check the official Steam discussions or support notes before changing third-party tools.
