Machine Party Controller Setup

A simple pre-flight checklist for controllers, keyboard input and local co-op sessions.

Controllers

Connect every controller early, then validate each player in a test session.

Keyboard & mouse

Keep a keyboard and mouse available for menus or a quick fallback while you diagnose input.

Steam Input

Steam's controller settings are the first place to check when a device is not recognized.

Five-minute troubleshooting order

1. Connect or pair controllers before launching Machine Party.
2. Open Steam and confirm each controller is detected.
3. Review Steam Input and any game-specific controller configuration.
4. Launch a short local co-op session and test each player input.
5. If an input fails, reconnect it, restart the game, then test it alone.

Avoid downloading unverified controller fixes. If the problem starts after a patch, compare your game build and Steam controller settings before changing anything else.
